The New Year has well and truly begun – bringing new beginnings and new challenges for all of us.
As it is already mid January, I thought it would be a great time to say hello, wish you a Happy New Year and share another episode of Getting a Lift Mick’s Way.
Hopping into the Rocket this time is Paula MacLeod – Head and Neck Cancer Care Coordinator, Royal North Shore Hospital, Sydney.
Paula is a truly remarkable woman, she not only coordinated the 25 plus person medical team who looked after me in hospital, Paula instigated my involvement with the Tomorrow Trust and wrote the Forward in Travelling Australia Mick’s Way.

Robbie and I are very excited about how strong sales are of the 2nd edition of Travelling Australia Mick’s Way, especially in the lead up to Christmas. This made me stop and think about how grateful I am to everyone who has purchased a copy. I just want to say thank you, because it means more funds can be contributed to The Tomorrow Trust, every little bit helps either a cancer patient or their family.
New Years can be a time to embrace change and try new things and this year I am hoping to take another little trip in the Rocket, into Central Australia and this time film some of my adventures.
I look forward to seeing you on the road or on Pittwater in my little boat the C Beetle. Please keep in touch and let me know what you are up to as well.
Focus on the year as you want to live it and as Mahatma Gandhi said “ Be the change you wish to see in the world.”
I am so grateful for where I am and excited for where I am going – Life is one big adventure!
